Well I've got all my note cards moved into papel. I guess that counts for something. I'm so not ready for November. I was so much more ready a month ago. I guess I'm just not feeling the slightest bit motivated but November's coming whether I'm ready or not, so I guess I better figure it out.

Wish the local coffee shop had more tea I liked. They need to get mint or something. Whatever.

ETA: I wish Papel could do what Photoshop could do.

I've added in Papel two scenes ideas that I've already come up with. I'll add more scene flags as I think of them. These'll be great for when I'm stuck writing. I also made an icon for the asylum and arranged characters around it. This was done in Photoshop. This let me know that I'm kind of short on asylum characters. (I mean, obviously, the only characters I have here are the ones that are gods/goddesses, and there are going to need to be characters in my story that are NOT part of the past life business, so I need to come up with some of those. Most of the staff of the bin, obvs. Although I think a couple ought to be just to throw everything out of whack. FOR FUN TIEMS PEOPLE)

Further, I don't have settings for the other characters. I'm not sure that I want everyone in the asylum. That makes things more challenging, but idk. I think I'll get bored and it's unrealistic that everyone's in a crazy house with the overarching plot idea, isn't it? I don't knowwwwwww i don't know. I might get them all there eventually. So some of them (like Gabriel) might not start out there. I don't know. Ray isn't going to start there, but I might not start his backstory OUTSIDE of there either. I don't knowwww. It's not my job to know these things yet, so I shouldn't stress about them right now.

Anyway, Map 2. I'm going to make more of these as time goes on, so get used to them. They help me.

ETA 2: Map 3, now with Dreamwalkers.

So here we go again. Another year, another Nano that I will probably not complete, but will go ahead and try.

I have some plot ideas - it started out as one thing, morphed into another and the month hasn't even started yet.

You know those RPs where the characters have a past life as a mythological or historical or fairy tale figure? You know those RPs where the characters are stuck in a mental hospital?

I'm thinking of combining portions of the two into a novel. I have some character ideas already. I'm not sure if these are going to be my main characters but they're the two I'm focusing on primiarly. They may work in as background characters. They don't have names yet, but one has a PB kind of and one...well, I know what she looks like, even if I don't have a distinct representation.

ETA: Actually, when I was looking for a picture to share of the PB for my him, I found a picture from the movie Goodbye Lenin, which will work pretty well to illustrate both of these characters (he and his (deceased) sister). He is blonde - (dyes his hair) and she has a bit more red in her hair, but it works). I'll use Daniel as a temporary name for him, as I don't have one.

Expect spoilers for my plot here, plot snippets as I write, character biographies, maps, plot diagrams, whatever else I come up with during October and November. Obviously no actual noveling will be done until November.

The mythological part? Ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses. I used to be really educated on this stuff. I'm not anymore. Let's see how badly I can screw it up. :D :D :D

I have a page of notes somewhere I should get up here soon.

I expect to be spending a lot of time in the new 24 hour coffee house I found working on this. I expect to have a hard time finding a table as I'm sure a lot of other people have found the place too, and writing in my house is generally something that I have a bitch of a time doing. There's also the lobby of my complex, although I hate it there and I'm sure I'll find other places along the way.

Previous years' entries have been privated to keep things clear, with the exception of the exerpt from 2004's novel which I always keep public. It can be found here and is not for the faint of heart. (It's...gory.)
